3D Printer
3D Intraoral Scanner
Dental x-rays are an invaluable diagnostic tool, but the images they produce are two-dimensional. Now, using state-of-the-art cone beam computed tomography (or CBCT), we can visualize the oral cavity in 3-D. CBCT helps us locate important anatomical structures like nerves and sinuses when planning the placement of your dental implant.
CBCT is also a valuable tool for planning root canal treatment. Since the doctors can see highly detailed 3-D images of a tooth, they can locate the root canals to see what they’re dealing with and plan your treatment accordingly. Using this detailed information, we can provide you with a root canal procedure that’s more comfortable and efficient and produces better long-term outcomes.
We are always happy to invest in new technology when it provides our patients with an accurate picture of their oral health and a better understanding of our recommendations. Until recently, there was no way for patients to see exactly what the dentist was seeing during an exam. Now, intraoral cameras provide us with the perfect tool for sharing important information about your oral health with you.
An intraoral camera is a small handheld instrument about the size of a pen. As the doctor directs the camera over your teeth, the images are projected directly onto a computer monitor mounted next to your chair. Since you see what our doctor sees, you can better understand what the problem is, why it needs to be addressed, and what we can do to fix it.
Digital X-Rays
Many common dental issues start where they can’t be seen – like in between the teeth or under the gum tissue. Digital x-rays allow us to find these problems when they’re small, long before they cause discomfort.
Images produced by digital x-rays are so highly detailed that we can project them directly on our chairside monitors so you see exactly what we see. Our doctors can manipulate the image, make it larger or smaller, and even adjust the contrast so you can immediately see what the problem is and why treatment is necessary.
Our patients also like the safety of digital x-rays because they use significantly less radiation to produce these images than film x-rays. Some estimates say that digital x-rays reduce your exposure by as much as 80%!
Digital images are stored securely in your patient record, making it easy to send them electronically to specialists and insurance providers when necessary. And because no chemicals are required to process digital images, they are better for the environment!
